Fashion Front Row Catwalk @ NE1's Fashion Futures 2015

I was so happy to be involved in the organisation of yet another successful Fashion Front Row catwalk show. This year the catwalk show showed off nineteen North East designer’s collections and The Libertarian was lucky enough to show alongside the likes of Dayne Henderson, Tallulah Love Lingerie and Scott Henshall.

The catwalk, now in its fifth year, has evolved into one of the North Easts main fashion showcases for local designers and is a pleasure to be involved with. It is now part of NE1's Fashion Futures and took place at the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art.

Here are some of The Libertarian’s hats on the catwalk. All pieces are now available to hire.

Last night was NE1’s Newcastle Fashion Weeks annual Fashion Front Row Catwalk show. It’s an event that I co-organise to promote local North East Fashion designers and this year we showcased seventeen different brands.

WOW it was wonderful to hear people gasping (in a good way) as my first model walked onto the catwalk waering The Libertarian's new Black Floral Sunburst Headdress:

NE1's Newcastle Fashion Weeks Fashion Front Row Catwalk

Back in May NE1’s Newcastle Fashion Week held its annual Fashion Front Row Catwalk show to showcase North East designers. I work for Fashion Week every year assisting with events management and coordination. Fashion Front Row Catwalk Show is my main responsibility to co-organise with Sandra Tang (Organiser of NFW). For the third year running the event was packed with fashion lovers eager to support local designers.

Every year we purposely choose a variety of designers from casual to evening and from womenswear to menswear. With 19 different designers on the catwalk this was our biggest show to date.

Each designer has a three minute section on the catwalk, so the event is a great way to discover what types of creative designers are working in the area or are originally from the north east.

You’ll find a list of all the designers involved with links at the bottom of this post.

Above: This year hair was styled by Sherlocks and make-up artists were provided by Liz Earle & Sisley by John Lewis.

All of the models were provided by Boho Model Agency and the event was hosted by As You Like It in Jesmond, Newcastle.

Above: Metro radio have been a strong part of the event for the past three years. They have helped us raise money for the "Cash for Kids" Chairty and have also provided us with a DJ the past two years.

Above: The success of the event doesn’t just rely on the designers, we have a strong group of dedicated volunteers that work extremely hard and make sure everything runs smoothly.

As promised here is the list of all the designers that showed their work on the catwalk. Look them up as their is some great talent in the list and I think most designers also accept private commissions which is always handy to know.

Fashion Front Row Catwalk Show

Happy New Year!

Eiffel Tower Fascinator modeled by Constance Peach at Newcastle Fashion Week 2012

As I wish you all a Happy New Year, I begin to work on what has become somewhat of a Libertarian annual tradition; co-organising the Fashion Front Row Catwalk Show for NE1’s Newcastle Fashion Week.

The Fashion Front Row catwalk show is now entering its third year as one of NE1’s Newcastle Fashion Weeks main events. It was created to showcase local North East designers work to the public, press and potential buyers.

I am a strong supporter of ‘buying local’ and keeping talent in the area by creating opportunities, which is essentially what the show is all about. A rich and vibrant art and design scene in a town/ city is what creates the exciting buzz that keeps people interested in visiting and living there.

Oh and regeneration- I’m well into that too, so when Sandra Tang (NE1’s Newcastle Fashion Week Coordinator) asked me to help her organise the first show in 2011, I almost tore her hand off!

A variety of designers have showcased work from T-shirts to jewellery and ball gowns to lingerie, so it has become a great way to find out what is happening in the area.

Here are some of my Libertarian models on the catwalk:
